Four charged in Windsor gun investigation

An investigation by Windsor police's Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) has resulted in the arrests of four people.

Patrol officers responded to a report of two men walking along Wyandotte Street East near Windsor Avenue on Tuesday, with one of the men allegedly carrying a firearm.

The two men were eventually identified and arrested without incident. A home was also identified in the investigation and a search warrant was obtained, according to Constable Talya Natyshak.

The warrant was executed at around 7:15 p.m. on the home, of which the location was not given. A gun and a loaded magazine were recovered and seized as evidence.

Two additional suspects were identified as the result of the warrant and were arrested.

All four suspects, identified by police as Ramanio Palmer, 26, of Windsor; Clay Walters-Cambronne, 24, of North York; Noor Al-Lababidi, 25, of Toronto; and Nina Ellis, 23, of Toronto, are charged with the following.

Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowing no authority

Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing no authority

Possess loaded regulated firearm

Unsafe storage of a firearm

Possess firearm with defaced serial number

Palmer and Walters-Cambronne were also charged with failure to comply with a release order, and Walters-Cambronne faces five additional counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order.

These charges have not been proven in court.
