Asymptomatic testing for school communities continues

Asymptomatic testing for COVID-19 is being offered for another group of schools in Windsor-Essex this weekend.

Students and staff from school communities in the N8N postal code area can go for testing at Ecole secondaire L'Essor on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those school communities include École secondaire catholique l’Essor; St. Peter Catholic School; Tecumseh Vista Academy (Elementary & Secondary); St. Pius X Catholic School; École secondaire de Lamothe-Cadillac; École élémentaire St-Antoine; St. Andre French Immersion Catholic School; École élémentaire L’envolée; A.V. Graham Public School; École élémentaire Ste-Marguerite d’Youville; & D.M. Eagle Public School.

The tests will be offered based on a walk-in schedule which can be found here.  The tests are completely voluntary and are open to anyone who is not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Results will take approximately 24 to 48 hours to come back.

To date, 501 tests have been completed through asymptomatic testing for Windsor-Essex schools. There have been no positive cases identified through this testing.

There are currently two schools in Windsor-Essex experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak. Outbreaks have been declared in a cohort from Centennial Central Public School and St. Peter Catholic School.  Both schools remain open although no students will be at school next week due to spring break.
