K9 Unit tracks down suspect after single-vehicle collision

A Windsor man is facing charges after allegedly colliding into a median on the E.C. Row Expressway and taking off on foot before police arrived.

Windsor police were called to the E.C. Row Expressway between Walker Road and Howard Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

They found an unoccupied white Audi A4 with extensive damage. Police were told the car was seen speeding in the westbound lanes before colliding with the median. A man was then seen leaving the area on foot. He didn't appear to have any injuries.

The Windsor Police K9 Unit was called to assist in the search.  Around 9 p.m. the K9 Unit found the suspect hiding in the area of Grand Marais East and Langlois Avenue. He was arrested without incident.

The 37-year-old is facing charges of dangerous driving, driving while under suspension and failing to remain at the scene of a crime.
