Windsor woman's crossword puzzle worth $250K

A Windsor retiree needed a second look to realize she had won a grand prize from a lottery ticket.

Anezka (Angie) Clark said the scratch-off game Instant Crossword Deluxe is her favourite, and she's a semi-regular lottery player. Upon playing the game, she referred to the OLG app to get a huge surprise, a $250,000 windfall.

"I struggled to find the last word and thought I won $25,000," said Clark, who picked up her prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. "Then I scanned the ticket using the OLG Lottery App on my phone and saw $250,000. I was happy with the smaller amount, this is so exciting."

Clark then sent a photo of her winning ticket to her kids to see which one could count all the winning words first. She purchased her winner at Mac's on Seminole Street in Windsor.

She plans to share her winnings with her family, invest, and take a vacation once it is safe to do so.

Instant Crossword Puzzle is a $10 scratch-off, with prizes ranging from $10 to $250,000.
