Chrysler Pacifica sales bounce back in Canada

The Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica minivan is enjoying a huge turnaround at the dealership.

FCA Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of Stellantis, released its sales report this week for the first quarter of 2021, and the Pacifica had a huge bounce-back from first-quarter 2020 when sales were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the figures, Pacifica sales increased by 113 per cent from year to year. In 2021, a total of 1,434 vehicles were sold, compared to 674 over the same period in 2020.

Another Windsor-built vehicle had a good first quarter, with the new Chrysler Grand Caravan, another minivan, selling 681 models in its first three months on the Canadian market.

Overall, FCA Canada sold 46,077 vehicles in the first quarter, a four per cent increase, with retail sales up 28 per cent.

"As the new sales year opened, our dealerships nationwide remained focused on customer care, safety and enhanced sales and service convenience, as evidenced by a double-digit boost in retail sales," said FCA Canada President and CEO David Buckingham. "

Chrysler brand sales were up 170 per cent year-to-year.
