Update on Tecumseh's Riverside Drive Trail project coming soon

If you are wondering what is next for Tecumseh's new Riverside Drive Trail project, there is a special meeting next month.

The meeting will be live-streamed on the Town of Tecumseh website on April 8 at 7 p.m. Delegates need to be registered, and written submissions are due by noon that day. If you do not have a computer, call the Clerk's Office at 519-735-2184.

The multi-use trail will further expand Tecumseh's active transportation network, running from Riverside Drive along the Windsor-Tecumseh border to Manning Road.

Councillors expect a report on the project and a presentation by consultants Bezaire Partners and Dillon Consulting. There will be a summary of progress so far and options for them to consider. Consultants will also have recommendations on the trail's location, alignment and design.

"We know that this project has received a lot of public attention lately, and we hope to be able to take the next steps following the presentation," said Mayor Gary McNamara.

The study into the project started in 2017 with public consultations held in September of that year and June 2018.
