Unifor ratifies deals with HBPO, Avancez and Dakkota

On Saturday, Unifor Local 444 ratified new three-year deals with the remaining so-called “feeder four” auto supply plants.

The HBPO deal earned 67 per cent support, meanwhile members voted 77 per cent in favour of the Dakkota dealm and 86 per cent of the Avancaez deal. Last week, a deal with ZF-TRW was also ratified with a 78 per cent margin. The agreement with that plant set the pace for a busy week of bargaining with Avancez, Dakkota, and HBPO.

With today's ratification, bargaining talks with the feeder four plants have now closed for the next three years.

The ratifications come just over one week after workers at the “feeder four” plants voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike mandate. Any work stoppage could have halted production at Windsor Assembly.

All four plants supply the Windsor Assembly Plant.
