Windsor-Essex home prices still rise in February (VIDEO)

Despite the Windsor-Essex region coming out of a COVID-19 lockdown again, home prices continue to go up.

According to the February 2021 sales figures from the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors (WECAR), the average sale price of a home in the region was $481,221. This is a continued indication of the high demand for housing in the region, as the average sale price in February 2020 was $385,619 for a 24.7 per cent increase from year to year.

The number of properties sold in Windsor-Essex also went up last month, with 479 switching owners compared to 437 in February 2020. This shows a 9.61 per cent increase.

The total number of monthly listings, though, went down year-to-year. WECAR reported 571 listings this February, in comparison to 603 in 2019 for a 5.93 per cent drop. At the time the monthly report was produced, there were 392 active listings in Windsor-Essex.
