Tentative deal reached between Unifor and ZF/TRW

A tentative agreement has been reached between Unifor Local 444 and one of the so-called "feeder four" auto supply plants.

The union announced via Twitter Wednesday night that it had reached an agreement with ZF-TRW, the first of the four companies up for negotiations.

Members have been asked to register with the union for a virtual vote Saturday at 11 a.m. At that time, the agreement will be presented and any questions will be answered.

ZF-TRW specializes in various auto parts and modules. Its Windsor facility is one of those feeding parts to the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant.

The agreement came a day after workers at the "feeder four" plants voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike mandate. Any work stoppage could halt production at Windsor Assembly.

Once the agreement is ratified, it will be used as a template for agreements with the other three companies, with Avancez on deck.

Dakkota and HPBO are the other two feeder plants involved.
