Fire Marshal's Office investigates Leamington blaze

Fire investigators are taking a closer look at a Family Day fire in downtown Leamington.

The Ontario Provincial Police said it happened shortly after 4 a.m. Monday on Talbot Street East near Victoria Avenue.

Leamington firefighters easily put the fire out, but the cause is still under investigation by the OPP Major Crimes Unit.  Investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal have also been called.

The OPP asks property owners in the area who have a security camera system to check the footage for any suspicious people or activity in the area.

Anyone with information or security footage should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted online or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
