Bargaining to start for four feeder plants (Video)

Unifor Local 444 leadership will be busy next week with pattern bargaining for four feeder plants that supply parts to the Windsor Assembly Plant.

The union has chosen to bargain with ZF/TRW first. An agreement with that plant will set the pace for bargaining with Avancez, Dakkota, and HBPO.

Those plants are currently on shutdown, along with the Windsor Assembly Plant.

The Windsor Assembly Plant is closed because of a part shortage, a microchip. It is the same issue that recently shut down the CAMI Plant in Ingersoll.

Because of that shutdown, Local President Dave Cassidy said he would provide his members with updates through social media.

"The committee is ready. Our Vice President Mike D'Agnuolo has been working with the committees. Everybody is ready to move forward," said Cassidy in a video posted to Facebook.

The union would like to have an agreement with ZF/TRW by March 1.
