Two injured in violent Windsor home invasion

Windsor police say two people were treated in hospital following a break-and-enter Tuesday night.

It happened at around 6 p.m. on Pierre Avenue off Ottawa Street. Police say five male suspects entered a home, with blunt objects being used as weapons.

Constable Darius Goze said six adults were in the house at the time of the invasion. Two of them were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe this was a targeted incident. It was not disclosed if anything was taken from the home.

A stolen vehicle, described as a silver Chevrolet, was found parked near the home where the attack took place. Investigators are asking neighbours to check any security camera footage to help determine if the vehicle was connected to the incident.

The Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information or security camera footage to share is urged to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-8477 (TIPS).
