City survey seeks input on new Civic Esplanade

The City of Windsor is looking for some inspiration for its new Civic Plaza and Esplanade and it needs the public's help.

The new plaza will be located where the old City Hall used to be, next to the new municipal building.

The Civic Esplanade is a natural connection between City Hall Square and the riverfront, and planners would like to create a multi-use outdoor space that attracts the public.

More than that, the space could be a spot for public discourse, community events and leisure.

The City has set up an online survey asking questions like, what kind of water feature would you like to see included, and what characteristics of Windsor should be featured, and what sort of entertainment do you think the plaza should host.

The survey is part of the first phase of public consultation, idea sharing. Later this spring, the public will be asked to measure conceptual design options, and the designs themselves will be presented this summer.
