Police look for witnesses to alleged impaired driving incident

Windsor police are looking for a person who may have been hit by an impaired driver in the area of Tecumseh Road and Bernard Road early Wednesday morning.

Around 4:20 a.m., police were called to the area after reports that a person may have been hit by a car, but when they arrived, the person had already left the scene.

Witnesses gave police a description of the vehicle involved and reported the driver may have been impaired. Officers stopped the vehicle a short time later in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Walker Road.

The 24-year-old driver was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit.

Investigators are looking for information from any witnesses and the person involved who may have been struck by the vehicle. They are also asking anyone in the area with surveillance cameras to review their footage for possible evidence.
