The Ontario Provincial Police needs the public's help with its investigation into a crash on County Road 42 Tuesday night.
Police were called to the crash east of Comber Sideroad just after 7 p.m. after a tractor-trailer and a minivan collided. The truck had jack-knifed and the minivan was badly damaged.
While officers were containing the scene though, the driver of the minivan fled the scene.
A concerned citizen later reported suspicious activity to the Lakeshore detachment and police found the driver suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The Ministry of the Environment was also called in to clean up after the crash. The tractor-trailer was carrying a load of diesel fuel at the time.
Police hope to hear from anyone who saw the collision or have information about it. They can call 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Messages can also be left online at www.catchcrooks.com.
