Connecting kids to Santa

Even Santa Claus is doing things a little differently this year.

In the past, children across the country have written letters to Santa as the big day approaches. This year, kids in Windsor-Essex can send him an email instead.

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association has teamed up with CUPE 543 to connect them.

"In keeping with our promise to support a caring community, we pulled some strings and are bringing Santa to the core this Christmas," said CUPE Local 543 President David Petten. "We've even set him up with his own downtown email address."

Until December 18, kids can email him at santa@downtown windsor.ca.

Everyone who sends an email by that date is guaranteed a reply by December 21.

"We all know the postal elves are extra busy this time of year," said Brian Yeomans, the Chair of the DWBIA.

"It's the digital age, after all, so children no longer have to pop a letter in the mail, hoping their envelope makes its long journey to the North Pole," read a release from the DWBIA.

If you plan to send a letter through the post office, the deadline is December 10.

The address is Santa Claus, North Pole, Canada, HOH OHO.
