COVID-19 case confirmed at Tecumseh daycare

A positive case of COVID-19 has been detected at a daycare in Tecumseh.

École catholique Ste-Marguerite-d’Youville informed its school community on Monday that an individual within its child care facility had tested positive for COVID-19.

"We are aware that this news may cause some anxiety and we want to make sure that you know we are working in collaboration with the Windsor-Essex Health Unit (WECHU)," the school said in a letter to parents.

The school said the health unit will be contacting all staff and families of children who are at a high risk of exposure to the confirmed case. Those who are not contacted are not considered to be close contacts.

Parents are asked to continue to monitor their children for symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. If you or your child is ill you are advised to stay home and contact your health care provider for further directions.

A positive case of the virus was also detected within the school community last week.
