Windsor-Essex home sales continue rising in October

The price of a new home in Windsor-Essex continued to go up last month.

According to the October 2020 figures from the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors, the average sale price of a home in the region was $428,276. This is a substantial increase from October 2019, when the average price was $341,848, accounting for a 25.3 per cent increase.

The number of properties sold in Windsor-Essex also went up last month, with 720 changing hands. A total of 609 properties were sold last October.

The total number of monthly listings, however, went down year-to-year. There were 823 listings this October, down from 845 in 2019. At the time the monthly report was drawn up, there were 703 active listings in Windsor-Essex.

Two-storey homes were the most popular sold in the region in October, with 143 sold. Bungalows followed with 124, ranch homes at 121, raised-ranch homes at 87, and one-and-a-half-storey homes with 75.
