Students at Windsor catholic school dismissed over COVID-19 concerns

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has dismissed 16 students due to high risk exposure of COVID-19.

With the advice from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, Christ the King Catholic Elementary School has asked 13 students, all from one class, along with another three students from the same bussing cohort, to stay home on Monday. The school board made the decision on Sunday after learning the students were recently exposed to the virus.

The catholic school board is working with the health unit by providing lists of students and staff who may have been affected.  Those who have not been contacted by public health, are not determined not to be close contacts of those who were exposed and can continue to attend school next week as per usual.

Christ the King has advised parents to continue to monitor their children for symptoms of COVID-19 on a daily basis, and to keep them home, and contact the health unit if they are suspected to have contracted the virus.
