HDGH Addiction Assessment and Referral Program moving

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare's addiction and referral program in Windsor is on the move after receiving feedback on the service.

Starting October 19, it will move to the Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre at 744 Ouellette Ave.

Right now, it operates out of the Withdrawal Management Building on Connaught Avenue adjacent to the Prince Road campus.

The program in Leamington will continue.

"Relocating this program recognizes the interrelationship between mental health and addictions," said the director of mental health and addictions at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Patrick Kolowicz. "Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare remains committed to ensuring that when required, both individuals and providers have an easily understood point for both. The Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is that place."

The Assessment Referral Program is for those 16 years and older who are concerned or experiencing programs related to substance abuse.

More than 700 people have sought help through the program each year, resulting in more than 2,000 visits.

The program serves to core functions. The first is to assess clients with an evidence-based tool to determine the appropriateness of treatment required. The second is to offer mild intensity outpatient programing.
