Strong winds predicted for the Essex region have prompted a flood watch along the Lake Erie shoreline.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority advises said winds gusts are expected to reach 35 km/h to 45km/h starting Wednesday morning, which will increase the risk of flooding and erosion along the shoreline in Amherstburg, Essex, Kingsville, Leamington, and Pelee Island.
Residents are encouraged to use caution and avoid areas where flooding is occurring. Slippery banks, waves, and fast-moving water can become dangerous, the conservation authority said.
The flood watch will remain in effect until Thursday.
