Tecumseh extends arena hours

The Town of Tecumseh has adjusted in-person hours for visitors to its arena.

Starting Monday, in-person hours at the Tecumseh Recreation Complex and Arena will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. The change is being made to accommodate public health guidelines on the number of people allowed in the building at once, as both of the arena's ice surfaces have resumed rentals.

Facility staff will still have the right to restrict entry, as current health guidelines allow for only 50 people in an indoor space at once. Anyone entering the building will be required to fill out a COVID-19 questionnaire, wear a face covering, and obey the posted signs and arrows.

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or not feeling well should stay home.

Paul Anthony, Tecumseh's director of parks and recreation services, said the telephone and internet are also convenient options.

"We encourage customers to continue to utilize our online and over-the-phone services where possible," said Anthony. "If you are not able to attend the facility during the in-person servicing hours, please schedule an appointment for an alternate time for in-person service."

Scheduled appointments can be made as phones are answered on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The town's official website also provides the latest information on programs.
