Suspect wanted after Highland Avenue assault

Windsor police are investigating after a man was hit in the face with a blunt object Wednesday afternoon.

At first, the report came in as a stabbing.

Police responded around 1 p.m. to a home on Highland Avenue near Giles Boulevard East where they found a man suffering serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down the street while they investigated. It was reopened later in the afternoon.

It turned out the suspect and the victim know each other and had been arguing before the conflict turned violent.

The Windsor Police Service Major Crime Unit has identified the suspect, but they are still looking into it.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at www.catchcrooks.com.
