Donation to help transform University of Windsor Faculty of Law building

Efforts to transform the Ron W. Ianni Faculty of Law building at the University of Windsor are getting a $3-million boost from the Don Rodzik Foundation.

A $30-million project is expected to start in January. It was first announced in November 2018 by then Interim University President, Douglas Kneale following the uncertainty after plans to relocate to faculty of law to the Paul Martin Sr. building downtown fell through.

Diamond Schmitt Architects have been hired to "reimagine the current law building into an environment that provides better space for teaching, learning, and collaboration while serving the accessibility needs of a diverse population," said a release from the University of Windsor.

The money will support the building's new court, a library, and the Don Rodzik Family chair in Law and Entrepreneurship.

Don Rodzik Sr. and members of his family were on hand Friday to present the gift to University of Windsor President Rob Gordon, and Faculty of Law Dean Chris Waters.
