Health unit adds two potential exposure sites

Two Windsor-Essex locations have been added to a list of possible exposure sites for COVID-19.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported Wednesday afternoon that potential exposures took place on Friday at the Ciociaro Club in Tecumseh, as well as the Shoppers Drug Mart location on Dougall Avenue near Roseland Golf Club in Windsor.

The health unit has indicated that there is a low risk of exposure for anyone who was at these two locations on Friday. However, anyone who has visited either, or both of them, is asked to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days from the exposure date. That period ends September 18.

This latest pair of exposure sites has been added to three others reported by the health unit on Friday.  There is a current total of six businesses.

The current protocol involves the publication of possible exposure sites if it is determined there was a risk of exposure, coupled with the health unit being unable to contact everyone who may have been exposed.

If you begin to experience symptoms, self-isolate yourself immediately, take the online self-assessment, get yourself tested at an assessment centre, and notify your primary care physician.
