Move-in day at UWindsor looks a little different this year

Back to school at the University of Windsor will look a little different this year with only 210 students moving into residences and very few attending class in person.

Students will begin moving into the residences on Saturday. Each student will have their own room this year and will be given a mask, hand-sanitizer and cleaning supplies as part of their welcome package.

Nearly all classes are being offered online this semester with the exception of some labs and clinical courses. About 175 students have in-person classes and 100 more will be working in research labs.

“Even though the majority of the learning this semester will be virtual, we have put in place supports to ensure students continue to get high-quality learning opportunities,” said Douglas Kneale, provost and vice-president, academic.

The University of Windsor has also launched a new screening app called the Safe Lancer app to help keep staff and students who attend campus safe.

The Leddy Library is closed to in-person visits, but materials are available online. Both the library and bookstore are offering curbside pickup.

All Welcome Week activities have also been moved online.
