Some Essex County residents are celebrating big lottery wins.
Steven Renaud and Juanita Renaud of Essex won $100,000 in the May 12, 2020 LOTTO Max draw. The parents of one plan to pay off some bills and purchase a new vehicle.
“We both feel the same way – we’re very happy for this win,” the couple said while picking up their prize at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.
The winning ticket was purchased at Piggy Mart Convenience on Talbot Street in Essex.

Tracy Schmidt of Leamington is also celebrating a $100,000 lottery win. She won the prize playing ENCORE in the August 15, 2020 LOTTO 6/49 draw. She will also be paying off some bills and plans to travel when possible.
“This feels amazing. I’ve been so excited these past few days I feel like I could swing from the rafters,” she said as she picked up her prize.
Schmidt purchased her ticket online.
