City to hold public information centre on Sandwich Street project (VIDEO)

The City of Windsor will allow residents to provide their feedback on new improvements along Sandwich Street.

About three kilometres of Sandwich Street, from Sandwich and Ojibway Parkway to the new Rosedale Avenue roundabout, will get a makeover. The project includes new sidewalks, curbs, trails, pavement, bike lanes, and streetscaping.

The project will be completed in phases and could start next year. It should be complete in 2024.

The Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority is making the investment as part of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

However, it first has to get public input before taking it to the City's Environment, Transportation, and Public Safety Standing Committee for approval. City Council will have the final say.

The online public information centre will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
