Hôtel-Dieu expands visitation

As COVID-19 case numbers continue to remain low in Windsor-Essex, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will start welcoming back more visitors to its campus.

The hospital has developed an expanded visitation plan that comes into effect as of Monday.

Each patient at Hôtel-Dieu will now have the option of selecting one individual who will be their registered visitor. This individual can visit their loved one seven days a week during one of two time blocks -- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The hospital will also begin allowing Designated Care Partners on-site seven days a week between the hours of  10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Hospital officials will continue to monitor and assess the COVID-19 situation locally and make necessary adjustments to visitation rules based on rates in Windsor-Essex.

Anyone entering the campus will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19. Visitors must also wear a face mask and practice proper hand hygiene. Currently, no individuals under the age of 18 are allowed in unless accompanied by an adult.
