Windsor retiree collects $100,000 prize

A Windsor woman hit a bingo and walked off with $100,000.

Dusanka Andjelkovic, 75, a retired warehouse clerk, was sitting at home having coffee one day when she decided to check her $5 Instant Bingo Doubler ticket from Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG). She then realized she had won the grand prize of $100,000.

“I checked each box closely,” said Andjelkovic. “Then I had my husband check. We never thought this would happen to us.”

The couple then made a beeline for a nearby retailer with an OLG terminal and checked the ticket again.

“We were shaking and wondering if this was possible. We saw the Big Winner message on the ticket checker, and then my husband put on his glasses and scanned it again. Then we decided that it must be true,” said Andjelkovic, who picked up her cheque last week at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Andjjelkovic plans to buy a new vehicle with the winnings.

The winner was purchased at the UPI-Stop 42 convenience store on County Road 42 in Windsor.

Instant Bingo Doubler is a scratch ticket available for $5 a play. The OLG said the odds of winning any prize while playing one of its games is one in 3.86.
