UPDATE: Firefighters battle two separate house fires in Windsor

The Windsor Fire Department responded to two residential fires on Saturday afternoon.

Both fires were extinguished, and the incidents have been investigated by fire and rescue. In both cases, no injuries have been reported as the residents were not home when the fires broke out.

The fire on the 100 block of Curry Avenue started in the living room of the home and the cause is undetermined. WFRS  pegged damages at $85,000 to the structure and $15,000 worth of contents.

An electrical issue within the wall of an upstairs bedroom caused the fire on 1500 block of Gladstone Avenue. Investigators estimate structural damages at $75,000, and approximately $25,000 worth of content damages. Crews also confirmed that a pet cat passed away inside the home.

Crews were first dispatched to the home on Curry Avenue just before 3 p.m. Firefighters were called to the second fire 10 minutes later on Gladstone Avenue.
