Kingsville adds options for Canada Day celebration

The Town of Kingsville is joining other area communities in providing a virtual observance of Canada's birthday.

Kingsville has invited residents to participate in a virtual Canada Day celebration, entitled "There's No Place Like This Place", by offering online activities. Wednesday provides a conclusion to three days of online performances celebrating the nation's 153rd birthday.

On Wednesday, the town's official website will offer virtual entertainment from Dispatch Talent, by Kingsville Bex, Bex Light Wands, Fire Guy-Star, and Bex Fire Finale.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kingsville is not offering its cupcake Canadian flag this year at the arena. However, 19 local businesses, including Colasanti's, Kingsville IDA Pharmacy, the Grove Brew House, and Little Caesars will have Canada Day cupcakes available for pick-up.

Kingsville will also be joining in a virtual celebration of Canada Day from SNAPD Windsor. Using SNAPD's Augmented Reality platform, a variety of activities will be offered throughout the day. At 9:30 p.m., Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield will lead a countdown to a virtual fireworks show.

The City of Windsor will also be joining in on the SNAPD experience. The Town of Tecumseh is hosting a virtual celebration of its own.
