Ford Fireworks rescheduled for August

The Parade Company in Detroit announced Wednesday afternoon they will be moving forward with the 2020 Ford Fireworks display on August 31, 2020.

The fireworks display is being plugged as a televised-only show to be aired on WDIV Local 4 out of Detroit.

"It will be one of the most special moments that Detroit has ever seen. Cause what we are going to do is to feature the great stories of the people of the great city of Detroit, what they did, how they did it and also remembering the amazing people who have passed away through this terrible virus," Tony Michaels President and CEO of the Parade Company.

Hart Plaza and other public spaces in Detroit will not be open for viewing. Officials said they would be following strict public safety guidelines that will be communicated by state and city officials in the coming months.

"Detroit will see a show that they have never seen before and I promise it will be the best fireworks show that this country has ever seen," said Michaels
