Windsor police had to taser a suspect while investigating a stabbing early Wednesday morning on Westminster Boulevard.

Officers were dispatched to Westminster between Tecumseh Road East and Adstoll Avenue around 3:30 a.m. after they got a report about an injured man.

When they got there, they found two men in the roadway. One was suffering from stab wounds, and the other was acting aggressively.

Once the aggressive man was subdued and arrested, the victim was taken to the hospital where he received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed the men, who knew each other, had an altercation inside a home, and it spilled outside.

Police identified the suspect Wednesday afternoon as Chase Binns, 20, of Windsor. He faces one count of aggravated assault. This charge has not been proven in court.

The Major Crimes Unit is in the early stages of its investigation and is asking anyone with information to give it a call at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
