Local suit store launches campaign to make 500 masks

The Suit Shop Co. Ltd. in Windsor is launching a campaign to make personal face masks.

The store is asking people to donate new or gently used, 100 per cent cotton dress shirts so their team can make them into reusable face masks.

“We have created the campaign called Your Dress Shirt Can Save Lives Facemask Challenge where our number one goal is to keep medical grade, professional N95 facemasks in the hands of the front line workers, of doctors and nurses who are risking their lives daily to battle COVID-19,” said Lazaros Dimitriou, owner/operator of the Suit Shop Co Ltd.

The masks will be donated to Windsor Regional Hospital to be distributed to family members or employees who do no work directly with patients. The goal is to make 500 facemasks.

A basket will be placed outside of the Erie Street store daily from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. until April 30 to collect donations.
