What's open and closed in Windsor-Essex this Easter Holiday

While the pandemic has closed all recreational facilities and playgrounds across the region, there are some additional closures in observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Premier Doug Ford announced the closure of grocery stores and pharmacies Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

The LCBO shuts down Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

The Beer Store is also closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

All City of Windsor offices and municipal offices in Essex County will be closed Friday and Monday. That is in addition to previous closures because of the pandemic.

Provincial and federal government offices close Good Friday and Easter Monday too.

The 311 Call Centre will shut down Friday and Monday, but it will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also find 311 services and information online and on the Windsor 311 mobile app.

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24-hours to assist residents.

Residential garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Friday or Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day next week. Residents are asked to check their Waste Collection Calendar for the next pickup day.

For commercial, front-end loader, and weekly recycling collections will not be delayed.

The Public Drop-off and Household Chemical Waste Depots at Central Avenue and the E.C. Row are closed because of the pandemic.

Parking enforcement will take the day off Friday and Monday. Municipal ticket payment offices are closed, but payments can be made online by visiting the E-Services tab on the City of Windsor website.

Garbage pickup will change in some Essex County municipalities on Friday.

In Kingsville, pickup was Thursday instead of Friday.

Pickup in LaSalle will be on Saturday.

Amherstburg and Leamington will have their garbage collection moved to Monday.

Essex, Lakeshore and Tecumseh do not have garbage collection on Friday.
