St. Clair College, University of Windsor support frontline workers

Windsor Regional Hospital will have another $100,000 to buy personal protective equipment and medical supplies after a large donation from the University of Windsor and St. Clair College.

Student groups and alumni associations at both post-secondary schools also chipped in.

Half of the money comes from St. Clair College, while the other half is from the university.

"A community-wide threat requires a community-wide response," said College President Patti France. "If we have the ability to help and assist the medical community at this critical time, we're going to do just that."

Kiara Clement is the president of the St. Clair College Student Representative Council.

"We can't supply volunteers, but we can help to furnish the essential equipment needed by our hospital heroes as they combat this threat," she said.

At the University of Windsor Students' Alliance, President Jeremiah Bowers said his organization wanted to do its part.

"Windsor has always been strongest when we're looking out for each other," he said. "This is what being Windsor Proud is all about."
