Simulation services firm sets up shop in Windsor

Cutting-edge computer technology is moving into the Windsor-Essex region.

SimuTech Group, a simulation services firm with headquarters in Rochester, New York, and offices in seven other U.S. and Canadian cities, is setting up shop in Windsor.

The firm has brought on a Virtual Reality CAVE operator to be embedded at the largest CAVE in the country, at the Institute for Border Logistics and Security in Windsor. The CAVE is operated by the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation.

"WEEDC is working hard to support economic diversity and prosperity for the Windsor-Essex region now and into the future. We are extremely pleased to welcome the SimuTech Group to our community to assist us in achieving these goals," said WEEDC President and CEO Stephen MacKenzie.

The CAVE operator will oversee all technical aspects of the operation in Windsor, and be the primary source for companies and educational institutions for guidance on the Virtual Reality CAVE and its capabilities.

"SimuTech Group is proud to establish a full-time presence in the Windsor-Essex region," said SimuTech CEO Rick James. "We are excited about building greater business opportunities by working with local companies to spur greater innovation by adopting 3D technology to visualize, check operations, or collaborate on design."

In addition to its New York State headquarters, SimuTech Group has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Cleveland, and Seattle. They also have two Canadian offices, in Montreal and Toronto.
