Ford tells Ontarians to prepare for stark projections

Premier Doug Ford is telling Ontarians to prepare themselves for stark figures as he plans to share projections for the spread of COVID-19 in the province.

He said the province's top doctors will give the whole picture during a briefing on Friday.

"You deserve the same information that I have. You deserve to see the same data that I see when I'm making decisions. You deserve to know what I know when you are making decisions for yourself, your family and your community," said Ford.

The information will show where the province is, and where it could go in terms of the spread of COVID-19.

"I know that many people will find this information hard to hear. A lot of what we are dealing with right now is hard on people. The new reality is hard," he said.

Ford said now that everyone from abroad has been back in Canada for a week, they have a better idea of the trajectory of the virus.

"We wanted to have a very clear measurement that we can measure to have an accurate modelling system," said Ford.

He said he expects the figures to be a wake-up call for the people who are still not taking this seriously.
