UPDATE: Windsor-area malls reducing business hours

Windsor-Essex's largest shopping mall will reduce business hours due to concerns over COVID-19.

On Devonshire Mall's official website, management announced on Monday that the mall is reducing weekday hours to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., effective immediately. The mall will open on weekends at 11 a.m., but close at 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 5 p.m. on Sundays.

"We have been closely following the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada, which is working with the provincial governments and international partners, including the World Health Organization," read the mall's statement. "At this point in time, the Public Health Agency of Canada has not advised us to close our shopping centre."

The mall's statement also said that property access hours would stay the same, with some tenants and services choosing to operate under their regular hours.

Tecumseh Mall is cutting hours to weekdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

Windsor Crossing Outlet Mall in LaSalle is also trimming hours temporarily. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
