OLG closing all casinos amid COVID-19 concerns

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has decided to temporarily close all casinos across the province.

A media release Sunday said the action is consistent with the recommendations of the province’s chief medical officer of health related to new precautionary measures for COVID-19.

OLG said it's confirming that an orderly shutdown of all casinos across Ontario has begun, and that it expects the closure to be complete within approximately 24 hours. OLG added it will provide an update on when the casinos will reopen, taking into account guidance from public health authorities.

There are 24 gaming facilities in Ontario, including sites in Sarnia, Point Edward, Chatham, Windsor, and London.
