A new floating dock system could be installed at the Cedar Island Boat Launch in Kingsville by the end of April.
A report to the town council recommends wooden decking. It explored two other options, a plastic deck and a composite, but the administration said they post a safety risk from static electrical charge.
The company that will install the new dock is On The Water Designs.
Last year, the town had to shut down the dock because of high lake levels. Levels are expected to be high again this summer.
Typically, the dock is open from the Victoria Day Weekend to the end of September, but last year, it was shut down from June 13 to August 8 because of safety concerns.
