Caesars Windsor workers recycle shampoo and soap

Ever wonder what happens to all those shampoo bottles and used soaps at Caesars Windsor's hotel?

Over the past ten years, Caesars Entertainment has partnered with Clean The World, a non-profit organization that recycles those products into new hygiene kits.

Kelly Laforest, health, safety and environment specialist and security shift manager, Michelle Thompson travelled to Las Vegas last month to help distribute the kits.

They participated in a contest held across Caesars properties in Canada and the U.S. and were just two of six workers selected.

Once in Las Vegas, they toured the Clean The World facility and distributed more than 500 hygiene kits to homeless organizations and food banks.

"I love being able to communicate the need for environmental programs, and how one person can make a difference," said Laforest. "This opportunity gave me the opportunity to make a difference on a bigger scale."

The kits also include messages of encouragement that say things like "you are loved."
