Arrest made in Windsor firearm theft

Windsor police say a 42-year-old man is accused of stealing firearms and ammunition from a local business.

Two firearms and an unspecified quantity of ammunition were taken on the evening of January 23 from a big-box store on Walker Road south of Division Road, though the incident was not reported to police until the following morning. Surveillance camera footage identified a suspect.

Sergeant Steve Betteridge said a suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon without incident. Henry Lewenza, of no fixed address, is charged with theft under $5,000, three counts of breach of probation, and ten counts of firearm-related offences. These charges have not been proven in court.

The firearms stolen in the January 23 incident have not been recovered.
