Investigation into downtown shooting continues

Windsor police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting in downtown Windsor.

On Monday around 1:30 p.m., police were called to Ouellette Avenue in the area of Montrose Street for a report of a disturbance. Around the same time, a patrol officer who was at the hospital on a separate matter reported that a man was there to get treated for a gunshot wound.  Officers determined the two incidents may be related. Police then seized the Ford Escort the victim arrived at the hospital in and began an investigation.

Both Ouellette Avenue and Pelissier Street were closed in the area for a short time to help with the investigation.

The Major Crime Branch continues to investigate this incident.

No firearm has been recovered.
