Fire officials say a blaze at a Dollarama store in Windsor Wednesday night was set on purpose.
Windsor Fire and Rescue first reported the blaze in the area of Tecumseh Road East and McDougall Street shortly before 9 p.m. The store was evacuated of employees and customers, but the fire was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.
A fire investigator determined on Thursday that the fire began on a shelf in the northeast corner of the store and that it was set intentionally.
The damage estimate is around $100,000.
The Windsor Police Arson Unit in conducting the investigation. Anyone with information should give them a call at (519) 255-6700.
