New app connects employers to employees

A new app created in Windsor Essex aims to connect employers to job applicants in real-time.

"It's an on-demand, just-in-time recruitment app where employers can find someone they want to work with, has the skill set, is available and they can find them in real-time. For the job seekers, they don't have to go looking for jobs they can put their profile, their availability, their core skills and the jobs will find them," said Rakesh Naidu, app creator.

The app Aye Work is particularly geared toward students and freelancers who need flexibility in their schedules but can be used for all job seekers and employers.

"I think we need an app like this for students because students do get left behind," said June Muir with the Unemployed Help Centre. "They need something that can help them get a job and secure a job and be available and get a job when they are available. That was the key."

Naidu said the biggest benefit is that employers will be able to find qualified people to fill positions quickly.

"When the employers need [someone] that need is very dynamic. It can happen anytime, a restaurant owner has a big order and now needs five extra sets of hands in the kitchen. So where are they going to find that extra set of hands ASAP? This tool will help them do that," said Naidu.

In the app, users can list their qualifications, their specific availability, and the types of jobs they are looking for.

"It's 2020, it's about time that we figure out how to connect employers and employees immediately. This app does it for us, easy, quick simple," said Tal Czudner with Landscapes Effects Group.

Czudner said he often has jobs that he needs extra hands for and it is difficult to fill those positions.

Each user is verified through the app and can be rated by previous employers. The employers can also be rated by employees.  All personal information entered into the app is encrypted to protect people's privacy.
