Strumbellas postpone Caesars show

Fans of a popular Canadian rock sextet will have to wait a little longer to see them in concert.

Caesars Windsor announced Friday that the Colosseum show with The Strumbellas, scheduled for February 6, has been postponed due to the illness of a band member. According to a statement posted on the band's official website, the entire Canadian tour is on hold until the member recovers.

"Our Canadian tour has been postponed. A band member has been hospitalized and is undergoing medical treatment for an illness, and we are unable to perform at this time," read the statement. "We've been looking forward to this tour across Canada for a long time. We know people go to a lot of effort to come see us, and we don't take that for granted."

The Strumbellas formed in Toronto in 2008 and have recorded four studio albums. The most successful one to date is their third album, Hope, released in 2016. It reached number three on the Canadian album chart and peaked in the U.S. at number-98 on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single "Spirits" peaked at number-23 on the Canadian singles chart but reached number-two on the Canadian rock survey and number-one on the U.S. alternative chart.

Their 2019 album Rattlesnake peaked at number-56 on the Canadian album chart and featured the hit single "I'll Wait".

The band's style has been described as indie-rock, as well as folk-rock, folk-pop and alternative country.

A make-up date for the Caesars show has not been scheduled. For those who do not want to wait and would like a refund, those can be obtained at the Caesars Windsor box office or through Ticketmaster. If you go to the box office, be sure to bring your tickets, a photo ID and the proof of purchase.
