Rotary promoting environmental stewardship

The new Rotary Club in Kingsville is making sure everyone in Lakeside Park has access to fresh drinking water.

With the help of a donation from Dejardin Insurance, the club is installing a new water filling station at the Kingsville Park. The $4000 donation came from the Goodspark Community Grants program.

"Rotary is brand new in town, they're just doing phenomenal things around Kingsville and we thought what a great opportunity to give some money over during the holiday season towards some great community projects with a brand new charity organization right here in town," said Ian Murray

The club wanted to keep the donation completely local and support children and families which is one of the rotary's mandates.

"What better way to support families who are using our municipal services and parks than by implementing the new water filling station at Lakeside Park," said Stacey Jones, president of the Kingsville Rotary Club. "Everybody is moving towards getting rid of single-use plastics so we want to work with that environmental aspect of it too. We hope that everybody uses it and we start to see more of them throughout town."
