50/50 raffle for 3D Digital Mammography Machine hits new high

Windsor Regional Hospital is on its way to raising the needed $500,000 needed to buy a new 3D digital mammography machine.

After just two weeks of sales for its online 50/50 raffle, the take-home prize is already $42,000.

"We have seen interest grow to an unimaginable level, and we are so excited to see how the prize will grow from here," said President of the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation, John Comisso.

Over 85,000 mammograms have been performed at the hospital in the last five years, helping women identify breast cancer early, and if necessary, start treatment.

"A 3D digital mammogram can help more of these women survive," added Dr. Del Dhanoa.

The Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation will be out in the community this weekend to promote the campaign.

On Saturday, December 14, members will be at Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, December 15 from noon until 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online.
